Bulk Operations

Content authors must commonly work with large content sets. The Bulk Operations app allows you to provide a list or URLs of your content and carry out operations on those pages en masse.

Collecting a List of URLs

Document Authoring makes it easy to manage your site's content by working directly with page URLs. The Bulk Operations app likewise expects URLs. You can collect URLs manually or you can use the Browse window to copy lists of URLs.

1. Navigate to the directory containing your content.

2. Use the checkboxes to individually select documents or use the select all checkbox to mark all documents in the folder.

3. In the banner, click Share to copy the URLs of all the selected documents to your clipboard.

   

You can also use the Traverse tool to generate a list of content below a tree.

Bulk Operations

1. Collect a list of page URLs where you wish to carry out en masse operations.

2. Under Apps, select  Bulk.

3. In the Bulk Operations window, copy your URLs into the URLs field.

4. Choose the desired operation:

   1. Preview is the default to create previews of the pages

   2. Publish to publish the pages

   3. Version to create new versions of the pages, for which you can provide a Version label

   4. Index to...

      

5. Click Submit to start the bulk action.

6. The status of how many URLs are Remaining, how many Errors occurred, how many were a Success, and how many in Total were processed is updated. Click the chevron next to each category to see detail of the pages processed.

   

Bulk Delete Operations

You can also use the Bulk Operations window to delete previewed and published pages as well as indexes. Note that the underlying content pages are not deleted.

1. Simply carry out the same steps as you would any other bulk operation, but check the Delete option after selecting your operation.
2. The  Submit button turns to a Delete button.
3. Click the Delete button.
