Limits
Document Authoring and Edge Delivery Services have a few limitations you should be aware of. For the most part, these are built to set authors up for success.
Edge Delivery Services
As mentioned above, Edge Delivery Services places a series of limits around content delivery. In short: if it's not supported by Edge Delivery, it's likely not supported by Document Authoring. Please review these limits on aem.live.
Sheets
As of today, DA's sheet editor has a fuzzy* limit of 10,000 cells. If you have sheet needs that could go beyond this limit, you're encouraged to use the Content Overlay architecture from Edge Delivery and push these larger sheets to either Google Drive or Microsoft SharePoint.
*A fuzzy limit is that your mileage may vary on what limit you hit. DA's underlying sheet editor loads all data into the DOM with no lazy loading or performance optimizations. If you have a relatively powerful device, you may have no issues loading a lot of data into the sheet editor. If your authors have slower devices, they may hit limits that you don't.
Media
Document Authoring supports the following media types:
- JPG
- PNG
- GIF
- SVG
- PDF**
- MP4**
**Ability to deliver subject to existing Edge Delivery guidelines.
