Disaster Recovery

First and foremost it's important to know that the delivery of your site is covered under the existing Edge Delivery disaster recovery strategy. DA itself has different uptime needs and characteristics from Edge Delivery. Where Edge Delivery places an emphasis on an active/active redundancy strategy, DA places an emphasis on self-service recovery.

Versions

Unlike Edge Delivery Services, DA keeps versions of your documents and sheets. These can be made adhoc, but DA will also make a version automatically on publish. In the event of a disaster, versions can be restored.

Trash

When a user deletes a file, DA will make a timestamped entry in the /.trash folder of a site. This allows anyone with privileges to the folder to restore their content.

Restore from preview or publish

Because DA's document structure is nearly identical to the structure delivered to your visitors, you can also restore from aem.page or aem.live at any time. Simply use https://da.live/apps/import.
