Disaster Recovery

It's important to know that the delivery of your live site is covered under the existing Edge Delivery disaster recovery strategy. Edge Delivery places an emphasis on an active/active redundancy strategy to ensure high availability for your visitors, and DA places an emphasis on self-service recovery for your creators.

Versions

DA keeps versions of your documents and sheets. These can be made adhoc, but DA also makes versions automatically for certain actions: preview, publish, translation / rollout, and when using the Snapshot Launches feature. Note: actions taken outside of DA (using Sidekick or other integrations) will not trigger automatic versions.

Trash

When a user deletes a file, DA will make a timestamped entry in the /.trash folder of a site. This allows anyone with privileges to the folder to restore their content. Note: if a delete is performed inside the trash folder, the content is removed permanently.

Restore from preview or publish

Because DA's document structure is nearly identical to the structure delivered to your visitors, you can also restore from aem.page or aem.live at any time. Simply use https://da.live/apps/import and follow the steps.
